In 1900 the property was sold to Mr. James Younger of Alloa. Mr. and</DIV>

Mrs. Younger, and especially Mrs. Younger, took a personal interest in the</DIV>
<DIV CLASS=f52 STYLE="position:absolute; top: 84pt; left: 60pt">
village and Mrs. Younger’s generosity is still remembered.</DIV>

The Youngers built a large mansion house on the site where General Robert</DIV>

Melville earlier had a house (which he called Craigton). After Mr. Younger</DIV>

died the house, Mount Melville, and the grounds were sold, in 1947, to the Fife</DIV>
<DIV CLASS=f52 STYLE="position:absolute; top: 146pt; left: 60pt">
County Council. The house was at first a maternity hospital and is now an old</DIV>
<DIV CLASS=f52 STYLE="position:absolute; top: 160pt; left: 59pt">
people’s hospital. The grounds were made into a recreation park called</DIV>
<DIV CLASS=f52 STYLE="position:absolute; top: 173pt; left: 60pt">
Craigtoun Country Park.</DIV>

Much of the property was retained by the Younger family as the Mount</DIV>

Melville Estate. In 1982 the estate was divided into two parts. The part</DIV>

which includes property in Strathkinness was acquired by members of the</DIV>

Younger family who do not reside locally. Mr. Stephen Younger, grandson of</DIV>
<DIV CLASS=f52 STYLE="position:absolute; top: 246pt; left: 60pt">
Mr. and Mrs. James Younger, and his wife live at Denbrae House, Strathkinness.</DIV>

Mr. Younger is currently Chairman of the Village Hall Committee, and his</DIV>

wife Kay, is also a member of the Village Hall Committee.</DIV>
