About Strathkinness.

Strathkinness is situated 3 miles west of St Andrews in Scotland. Today it is largely a suburb of St Andrews though it does have a thriving village life of its own as embodied in the local church, community council and school.  Historically Strathkinness was regarded for its weaving, agriculture and stone quarrying but is perhaps most noted for being the location (on Magus Muir across the valley) of the murder of Archbishop James Sharp by Covenanters on the 3rd of May 1679.
